Hi, this is Yuri Losorto, the managing producer of Radiotopia Presents. Recently, the White

House announced its plans to ask Congress to rescind funding to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting,

or CPB. If the plan passes, CPB would lose $1.1 billion in funding, which is about two years' worth.

It could have serious consequences for our partners in the public media ecosystem, such as NPR, PBS, and local

stations across the country, especially the ones in smaller markets. I could go on and on

about why public media is vital to the social fabric, how I rely on my local stations for news, how the awesome podcasts we bring to you

from Radiotopia can trace their lineage back to public radio. But instead, I will share this piece
