I'm John Bachelors with my colleagues Hiseena Kani of the Hudson Institute,

former ambassador from Pakistan to the United States, and Bill Rajo of the Foundation for

the Defense of Democracy. Mr. Ambassador, I follow Bill's colleagues reporting that the Humanitarian

Relief Foundation in Turkey, IH, is its acronym, is in some fashion

linked very closely with the Muslim Brotherhood.

They're in exiles somewhat in Turkey from their days of

battling for the Egyptian presidency. And the U.S. Department of Treasury has sanctioned the Muslim

Brotherhood and well it might, it's a troublemaker throughout the region. However,

this again is evidence that Afghanistan is the Taliban are linking with bad actors in the region.

Is Turkey stamping in territory that they've been before? Is this new

for Turkey to get involved in Afghanistan? Does it suit their purposes?

Turkey was always involved in Afghanistan.

Look, we must understand the nature of the greatest Islamic world.

It's not a unified entity. Yet there is a connection.

And there are efforts by various global actors

to try and emerge as the leaders of the phenomenon

called an Islamic sense of community and

Brotherhood. It's a bit like Europe at one point when there were many governments

who were trying to lay claim to being the leaders of Christendom.

That was several centuries ago.

That is playing out right now, we shouldn't ignore.
