author most recently of Trumpoculips. As we are recording this we've just

learned that at the Kabul airport there's been a

suicide attack and some number of Americans were killed.

We're hearing different numbers, possibly four. There may be more and more wounded.

We have also heard that there are something like 1500 Americans that still need evacuation

and unknown numbers of Afghan allies, those who put their lives on the line to help

American troops, translators, and others who are still awaiting rescue.

So as of this moment, the Biden administration

says that it is standing by its August 31st deadline.

So David From, I will go to you first.

Is there no alternative to this August 31st deadline?

There is perhaps an alternative now.

President Biden has said that the United States would comply with the deadline so long as the Taliban upheld its

indirect security guarantees.
