You can't see I'm a good Christian because I dress like a good Christian, I act like a good Christian,

and I have good Christian attitudes.

But if you are a Christian, you absolutely will have appearance, attitudes, and actions that confirm your profession of faith.

You probably don't leave the house with your clothes inside out, but when it comes to modesty, that's exactly what we need to do.

First work on the inside, on our hearts, then let that be reflected on the outside in her clothing. Here's Nancy continuing in a series

called The Attractive Christian Woman. If we were to take a little inventory of your life,

do you think people would describe your life as being well-ordered or would they describe it more as being

chaotic? That's the question that really penetrated my heart last night as I was working on

this session and I was alone in my study and the Lord was there with me speaking to my heart

about what it means to have a well-ordered heart as opposed

to a chaotic heart. The scripture has something to say about that. We're looking this week

at a very important New Testament passage that talks about how we as women are to conduct ourselves

in the family of God. And we're given some instructions that are a little different than the instructions given to men.

That's because we have distinctive roles and responsibilities and callings in the body of Christ.

We're looking at 1 Timothy chapter 2, verses 9 and 10.

And the scripture tells us that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel,

with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire,

but with what is proper for women who profess godliness with good works.
