margin. Now the court was precariously balanced in the middle with Roberts as the swing justice.

While Roberts does have conservative leanings, I think that's the key word leanings.

And so let's just say that out of 10 cases we could count on Roberts maybe six out of 10,

which means that the court was slightly tipped in a rightward direction, but only slightly.
