Hi friends, welcome to another special episode of that sounds fun.

I'm your host Annie F Downs and I am so happy to be here with you today.

I am getting ready to spend my summer Sabbath in the city.

You know our team always takes a little bit of a summer

Sabbath and tries to rest, vacation. We talk a lot here about work hard, pray hard,

rest hard and play hard. And so we are leaning in on that rest hard and play hard for the next couple of weeks.

But I want to share with you the whole story of how I came to be AFD and NYC, since that is where I'll be.

So every day for the first week of June,

we're sharing the series of episodes called AFD in NYC,

all leading up to a brand new episode on June 8th where I'm going to tell you why I chose to rest in the city instead of you know

somewhere quiet. These episodes are just me talking about the things I learned while living in a different city last

October and November up in New York and what it was like to live in this fast-paced

culture what I realized when I started living life on foot instead of in a car and what I discovered

about FOMO and building the life that you want.

And then I'll get to tell you all sorts of new things on June 8th, but I want you to hear the whole story first.

After our staff meeting on Monday,

I grabbed my dirty laundry and a jump suit that needs alterations,

and I walked down the stairs and out the door

and over two blocks to drop my things off.

Neither my apartment nor my building have laundry, so around the corner I go.
