Summary

Host Ian Hartitz is joined by PFF analyst Andrew Erickson to break down potential wild cards from every AFC team that might have a larger impact in the offense than most expect. Conversation begins with a look at Gabriel Davis' role in the Bills' passing game before looking at the Dolphins' similarly-crowded wide receiver room. The Patriots' backfield is as murky as ever, and the Jets aren't too far behind. AFC North discussion revolves around Sammy Watkins, C.J. Uzomah, Donovan Peoples-Jones and Kalen Ballage. Andrew screams to the heavens to give Jordan Akins a moment of your time, while Ian is in agreement that Parris Campbell is worthy of a late-round pick. Additional topics include: Collin Johnson, Anthony Firkser, Teddy Bridgewater, Mecole Hardman, Bryan Edwards and much more.

Hello, welcome to PFF fans, the football podcast. I'm going to host Ian Hartitz and today,

0:13.6

we're going to continue a two part series that myself and my guest, Andrew Erickson,

0:18.0

started two weeks ago, tried to do his podcast last week. Unfortunately, my voice was so

0:22.9

bad that about five minutes in, I started cursing at Andrew and mostly my voice. And we

0:27.9

had to stop the damn thing right then. But feeling good people, Andrew's feeling good,

0:32.5

you're hopefully you're feeling good. Morey Toxin Ball. So the purpose of this podcast,

0:36.1

again, will be the AFC side of every team's wild card, not necessarily fancy players we want

0:41.3

into 2021, but guys that we think people should be paying more attention to. So before we get

0:46.2

to that, Andrew, what's going on, man? Happy July 13th as we record this. Yeah, Ian, thanks,

0:51.7

your voice. I had an extra week to prep. So I'm fired up ready to get going to fantasy football

0:56.5

season is here. It's live. The fantasy football draft kit is live on the site. Make sure you

1:01.0

go check it out. Ian and I, my hand still recovering my hands a little blistery from all the blurb

1:06.6

as we wrote out, but we're good to go. As always, great day to be great, everybody. So yes,

1:11.1

we're going to get going, starting with the AFC East and again, we're looking at wild card players

1:15.6

that we cannot be forgetting about. And first off, Andrew, tell me about Gabriel Davis, who seems

1:21.0

like the number three receiver, maybe the number four though, after the bills got rid of John Brown,

1:26.1

replaced them with the manual Sanders. That's the thing. Manual Sanders has been getting some hype

1:31.3

as the number two wide receiver on the bills. But at the same time, I'm looking at these two

1:36.1

different players. And Gabriel Davis is that receiver that goes down field last year, 17.3 average

1:41.5

depth of target was seventh highest in the NFL. He actually saw more deep targets than Stefan Diggs

1:47.1

did last year. It was diggers, really, the intermediate guy for Josh Allen. And the funny thing was,

1:51.8

we all kind of thought digs going to the bills was going to be for his ability to win down field.
