Hi, this is against everyone with Connor Abeeb, a weekly podcast featuring my conversations with

engaging and accessible way. I'm so excited to be joined for what is the queerest and probably

most sexual episode that I've done of the show so far,

by author Andrea Lawler.

Now, Andrea Lawler has written a novel that I could not tell you how close it is to my heart.

It's called Paul Takes the Form of a Mortal Girl,

and it is about a shape-shifting, horny, post-punk.

And it really is a special book.

It takes place in the 90s into the 2000s, and Paul has many misadventures changing his body to enter into new sexual situations.

So this episode is really special to me because it's one of those episodes where we really

center sex as the topic of inquiry.

So we talk about desire and attachment.

We talk about my like overwhelming

horniness and desire for this frat boy who is singing a holl and oat song. We talk about how

sexual liberation allows us to be full human beings. We talk about indie rock and zine culture and post-punk as queer expressions.

And really, it all just keeps coming back to Andrea's amazing statement that in their life,

queerness brought everything that was good in their life to them. So I'm so excited to share this episode

with you. I can't, I can't tell you. I keep just saying that again and again, but Andrea and I

clicked very quickly. We actually both went to the same graduate program, but Andrew was there

after I was, and now they live in that area where I lived for

eight years in Western Massachusetts. And so we have all these weird and interesting parallels
