newly working screenwriter Lori Penny, Lori is the author of Unspeakable Things, Bitch Doctrine, and a whole bunch of other books, including just, I don't know, if it's thousands of articles, whatever.

It's a lot of articles about feminism, gender, sexuality, politics, economy, all that.

Lori and I spend most of this episode talking about consent

and what consent means and how we can do it better

and why we need to do it better,

why it's not just a monolithic conversation,

but requires a lot of cultural context,

requires a lot of historical understanding,

requires critiques of economic systems and structures of power.
