This week I speak with my good friend, Dr. Peter Rollins, and Peter is a doctor of philosophy.

And he's been on the show before. Peter thinks about philosophy through religion and psychoanalysis.

He's always thinking about God and what our desires are.

And he's the author of many books, one of my favorites of which is called the Orthodox

heretic, but also how not to think about God and insurrection.

On this episode, Peter and I talk about the state of philosophy in 2019.

What are some things to think about? What's going on in philosophy?

He talks about the psychoanalytic school of philosophers that are really gaining momentum

and prominence, sort of on the back in some ways of Slava Jizek, who is a psychoanalytic

philosopher that you might have heard of

because he's kind of big in pop culture. We also talk about that guy, Jordan Peterson, as a sort of anti-philosopher,

and ways in which people dismiss philosophy in 2019. And finally, we talk about a sort of new superstar in philosophy. No, it's not me.

It's a guy named Peter Slaughterdyke, and we'll sort of think about him and his influence.
