Hello, friends. This is the first episode of Against Everyone with Connor Beeb in 2024.

This year, we're crossing over from the last into the new without the usual commitment to hope.

What I mean by that is, you know, there's this tremendous energy

during the new year that everybody has.

I'm sure you know it, but just to say it here,

the world energy is, oh hey, I can change my life.

I can change the trajectory of the world.

I can change my body, my habits, my career, my desires, even, my relationships.

But at the beginning of this year, we have a bridge from the last that is a bridge of corpses, a bridge of violence, a negative

bridge almost, something that prevents us from moving forward, entering into the new, thinking

about what is possible for us. Where do we find our hope then?

Is that possible to find hope?

Do we bother making resolutions?

Do we bother trying to improve our lives?

The apocalypse, which is so on everybody's mind,

people talk about it all the time, That has come for tens of thousands of Palestinians

who have now been murdered, tortured,

ridiculed, injured, displaced, traumatized, humiliated.

The apocalypse has come for them.

There's no looming apocalypse. This is it. The conditions have been made

as terrible as possible days, months of living in terror and fear. And obviously, the resolutions

and changes will not be available to them and we can feel what's the point of trying to change my own life.
