Hi, this is against everyone with Connor Habib. Welcome, friends, to the second episode in the

series of episodes that I'm calling How to Live Beyond that I'm opening 2023 with. And okay,

oh boy, it's an intense one. To open 2023, each of these episodes, these How to Live Beyond

episodes, will consider a set of tools or a way of thinking that are useful, but that we're ready to go beyond in 2023.

We'll be looking at things like abundance and manifestation, wellness and self-development, paganism, and more.

The first episode in this series, which was the

previous show, featured Mitch Horowitz on how to live beyond the new age. So that was all about

what we can get from new age and positive thinking, but also what we should reconsider and leave

behind. These are all techniques and

traditions we use to cope with and confront the challenges of our time, but they risk, if we

can't consider them deeply, getting us stuck in those challenges, or worse, funneling their

strengths back into those challenges. These episodes aren't a call to forget those techniques or traditions,

but they're instead of call to bring forward what they've offered without the barbs and the

problems that are tangled up with. This time, psychedelics and sorcery or spellcasting or

how we can magic ourselves into a better planet or against capitalism or against climate change.

advising everyone use ayahuasca to see reality for what it is, or Michael Pollan detailing how

hallucinicen have health benefits. And then there's all the hashtag witches of Instagram stuff that's

been brewing, pun intended, of course, for a while now,
