Hi, this is against everyone with Connor Abeeb, a weekly podcast featuring my conversations with

countercultural figures and presenting complex, philosophical, spiritual, and political ideas in an engaging

and accessible way. This time, we'll be talking about sexual ideas. I've been writing and giving

talks about sex for over a decade now, and I find it because I've

done so much work on it, difficult sometimes to find very stimulating conversations that are

challenging to me, challenging to the things that I think. I knew that having author and

publicly intellectual Catherine Angel on the show would change all of that.

Catherine is the author of a stunning work of vignettes on sex and fear and domination,

which is called Unmastered, a book on Desire Most Difficult to Tell.

She also wrote Daddy Issues, which questions patriarchy by looking at women's relationships

with their fathers in the light of me too.

She has a new book called Tomorrow, Sex Will Be Good Again, which comes out next year from Verso Books.

Catherine was introduced to me, or her work was anyway, by Shnade Gleason, who you might remember

from Against Everyone with Connor Beeve 72.

Shanade has impeccable taste, so I knew that I should check into this writer.

And what I found was someone who was thinking about sex in a very complex, but not a needlessly complicated way,

but rather in a way that really addressed all the sort of intense contours of sex and sexuality.

Mostly on this episode, we talk about consent, and we go at it from many different angles, and we find it, I would say maybe surprisingly to some people who have listened to the show,

rather lacking and not the best place to form our sexual ethics. Now, before you get up in arms

about that, the mad tweets go out that Connor Rabebe doesn't like consent and neither is

Catherine Angel. We recognize and we reiterate this consistently on the show how
