Tonight was the beginning of the TBS era of AEW Dynamite, the very first episode of 2022

on TBS, the mothership, if you will. I am the solemn answer and this is your AEW Dynamite review,

a big episode that kicked off with the rematch for the AEW World Championship between Hangman Adam

Page and Brian Danielson, just like their winter is coming match. Opening the show tonight,

we had the finals of the TBS title tournament, Jade Cargill, one-on-one against Ruby Soho,

and we main evented with the AEW Tag Team Championships on the line, Jungle Boy,

a lucha source challenging the lucha brothers in what on paper sounded like a great main event,

sounded like it was going to be a lot of insanity. And there was quite a bit of insanity

up until the finish. And then something went very, very wrong. There was a table spot

outside the ring was a table, Alex Abrahante said said a table up, Christian Cage chases him to

the back, and lucha source chokeslam Ray Phoenix off the apron down through the table.

The bump itself looked great, the table exploded upon impact, but Ray Phoenix really suffered

the brunt of it is arm, all but exploded on impact. His arm landed in such a way.

The only thing I can tell you that the first thing I thought of was

Sid Vicious in WCW when he snapped his ankle, that awful image, it's horrible to even think about that.

That's what this reminded me of. His arm at the elbow was bent in such a way. You knew instantly

and you could tell from the expression on his face that something was very, very wrong. A human arm

is not meant to bend that way. He looked like he was an absolute agony. He immediately starts

pointing to the arm. Doctors come over. He was out of the match at that point. The match was

almost over, but he was pretty much done for at that point. In the end though, jungle boy rolls

up Penta and wins the tag team title. So on what was supposed to be this great crowning night

for jungle boy and lucha sores becoming the new AEW world tag team champions. This night
