Hello and welcome to the AEW Dynamite review, I'm Adam Wilborn from What Culture joined by one of the deadly boys, Michael Sidjwick from What Culture to review everything that happened on last night's episode of AEW Dynamite.

Well, of course, of course, on WrestleCulture, as I said, join by Michael Sidjwick to review AEW Dynamite.

Michael Hamlet right now taking part in the Egg and Spoon races, school sports day, but Sidjwick, what did you make of last night's show?

Hey, it could be a boxer with that head.

Look, I first booted up FightTV, what was it, half-four in the morning, and the first thing I saw was a very dimly lit arena that looked like it, like I'm not being a bad faith guy, probably had about 3,000, but it looked like it was 900.

Was it Saskatoon?

Saskatoon, it looked like it had about 900 people in there.

It was like the self-consciously dark, dimly lit, let's hide the reality of the situation, so as much as I thought there were things on the show that were really fun.

I'm really quite emotive, there was this instant ceiling lowered over the vibe and the atmosphere, so I just couldn't ever escape that.

All this atmosphere is really flat and it's going to hamper my enjoyment of the entire two hours, but there was some stuff that I liked quite a bit on this show, and there was some stuff that I liked the atmosphere of, sorry the idea of, if not quite the execution.

Yeah, there was bits on this show where I was sort of transported back to childhood me watching wrestling, it's amazing how sometimes they can just do stuff, and you're like,

I'm going to, all my cynicism goes away, and I'm just genuinely like, yeah, wrestling is the best.

So I had a great time watching this show, and I was pleasantly surprised by the swerve at the end of it, but we'll get to that end due course with the reveal of the Blood & Guts fifth men.

Before that, there will start to begin in the show, which opened with Chris Jericho versus Commander.

I assumed, Josh, for some reason, I just assumed this was the main event, so I was completely thrown, I was like, okay, straight into it, are we?

And obviously Jericho gets the reaction, he's going to get in Canada, he takes over early on against Commander, who fires back with that cornerhead stand into a dropkick that he does,

multi springboard hurricane runner sends Jericho to the floor, Commander follows that up with the tornado, but then flies through the air and just gets nailed by a Jericho forearm, which looks great.

Commander came back, only to get hip-tost apps, the floor takes us to a break, when we come back, Commander fights out of a superplex, hits that rope walk, shooting star that he does.

Jericho goes for some sort of springboard attack, missed that, goes to the floor, and Commander obviously does that insane rope walk dive that he does,

Phoenix Splash, when they get back inside, gets him a two-count, he goes for another big rope walk thing, but Jericho turns it into a code breaker in midair,
