Tonight is about AEW. They were live in Pittsburgh for dynamite and another huge announcement that Tony Khan was talking about on

Busted open. They said it last week that this week on dynamite another huge announcement from the president of AEW

Tony Khan. Tony Khan has taken to making many announcements on this television show. The biggest one probably being the announcement that he had bought Ring of Honor a few months ago. That was a pretty big announcement, right?

Even if you're not a Ring of Honor fan, I think that qualifies as big news.

Of course, the problem is you keep promising big things and people have big expectations.

So we talked about this on the podcast on Sunday. What could the announcement be about? Doesn't seem like it's talent-related.

You know, is it about Ring of Honor or new television deals? It's some kind of streaming deal announcement. You know, they talked about this being an announcement that would send shockwaves throughout the entire wrestling world.

So you knew it had to be somewhat big. It had to involve more than just AEW.

Oh, of course, my suggestion of the podcast was that Tony Khan had put in a bid like Elon Musk did to buy Twitter so that he can purge it.

Of all the bots and fake accounts that had been tweeting mean things about AEW. I still think that might happen.

Talk picked up in recent days, though, about the possibility of some kind of a joint show between AEW and New Japan pro wrestling.

And so where there's smoke, there's fire. I heard, you know, Sean Rossat talked about it. Meltzer started to hear certain things about it, but we didn't know.

Well, tonight Tony Shivani came out in the middle of the show. He walked out and he introduced Tony Khan on stage for the big announcement. Here comes Tony Khan.

Actually, Tony Khan said very little on this show, which is for the better. He wasn't out there screaming and shouting and acting all weird. He came out.

And then Tony Khan introduced us to the president of New Japan pro wrestling and he introduced to Kami Obari.

No, Barry walked out. The two men shook hands like this great international summit here. Tony Khan and Mr. Obari standing there side by side face to face.

They shake hands and all of a sudden they are interrupted by Adam Cole who pops up on the tron.

And Adam Cole says there's no better person to make this announcement. He knows a thing or two about Japan. He wrestled of course for New Japan for some time. He knows that plays very well.

And so he said no better person to make the announcement than I. And that announcement is that on Sunday June 26th at the United Center in Chicago.

AEW and New Japan pro wrestling are coming together for a super show called Forbidden Door and it will be a live pay-per-view event.
