Today I've decided to do another Aesop story, except this time we rewrote it in our own special way.

The story is called The Dog and His Bone. A dog woke up one afternoon. He'd had a lovely nap. His little tummy

grumbled. He was ready for a snack he wanted something tasty something very good to eat

perhaps the butcher down the road would give the dog a treat he trotted to the butcher shop and gave a little yapp

the butcher said I have a gift for you my lucky chap the little doggy wagged his tail and gave a hungry groan. The friendly butcher

chuckled and he gave the dog a bone. The doggy took the bone and gave a little bark of pleasure.

And then he went to find a place to eat his tasty treasure.

He crossed over a river with the bone between his teeth, but as he crossed the bridge he stopped and had a look beneath.

There below the bridge he saw another dog and bone.

This bone thought the dog is so much bigger than my own.

He growled and saw the other doggy looking back at him.

I want that lovely bone! he shouted and he jumped right in. As he did, he let go of the bone between his teeth. It sank into the water and it disappeared beneath.

The dog and bone he'd seen below the bridge could not be seen.

They were his reflection when he looked down in the stream.

He paddled to the shore and then he gave himself a shake.

He realized that he had made a terrible mistake.

He thought about his greediness. It came at

quite a cost. The doggy learned his lesson, but his tasty bone was lost.
