Christmas is coming. The goose is indeed getting fat. But would somebody please remind the government that giving out instructions to families on who they should be mixing with is doomed to failure.

More and more people are revealing that they won't be bullied into not having a normal

Christmas with their families, and I heartily endorse their view.

The new Chris Witty, Dr Susan Hopkins, managed to get it all wrapped around her ears yesterday.

The Imperial College modeler claimed that for every day of Christmas freedom, we would be

punished with two days of incarceration in a new lockdown.

Turns out she was entirely wrong about that. It's five days for every one.

Apparently she misspoke. That's the new way of covering up getting something completely

utterly wrong. Well, excuse me for asking, but who gave these bozos a licence to just make

stuff up as they go? And by the way, where is Professor Whitty? Have they locked

him in a cupboard? What's going on? Meanwhile, the Prime Minister continues his self-isolation in

splendid style. He's addressing the House of Commons on his plan to splurge £16 billion on the

military. Let's hope he's got a better connection than he had yesterday, because that was pretty

poor, I'd have to say. We'll be asking,
