aka childhood traumas can play a role

in our mental health and adulthood.

And I was intrigued.

So I found Dr. Joseph Elfar who's a psychiatrist and I found him on

social media I asked him to come on my podcast to talk about ace scores, to talk about the history of them,

what they mean, what the heck can they do to us, and what now?

I know my ace score now, What do I do with it? He is coming on to chat about all things

A score. He even touches on getting psychiatric help and therapy in today's world.

Hi Joe, thank you for coming on my podcast. I'm so excited. This has been a long time coming. We've had to cancel how many times now? You're sick, I'm sick, I'm traveling, you're a travel traveling. So we finally made it work and we are here to talk about A scores and first I want you to tell everybody about yourself who you are, what you do and what we're going to talk about today.

So my name is Joseph Alfar. I'm a resident physician.

After finishing medical school, I began training to become a psychiatrist.

Currently, I'm finishing up the second year of training

out of a total of four years to become a general adult psychiatrist

and then possibly fellowship after that, you know, still undecided. In medical

school we got to go through all of the core rotations, so internal medicine, surgery,

OBGYN, pediatrics, neurology, and of course psychiatry.

I personally felt drawn to psychiatry because of the nature of the work and my interest in

the psychopathology, I really like that.
