Hi and welcome back to the Truth Seekers podcast. Today is the third day of Advent as we take time to prepare our hearts to celebrate Christmas and all that it means.

At Christmas time we think of many things like warm cookies and colorfully wrapped presents

under the tree and gingerbread houses. But most of all we think of Jesus and remember this time

when we celebrate his birthday.

Jesus was born to Mary and Joseph, and Mary was just a young woman when the angel Gabriel appeared to her one day.

The angel said greetings, you who are highly favored, the Lord is with you. But Mary was troubled. She wondered what kind of greetings. You who are highly favored, the Lord is with you. But Mary was troubled. She wondered what

kind of greeting this might be. The angel said to her, don't be afraid, Mary. You have found

favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name of Jesus. He will be great, and he will

be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father, David,

and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever. His kingdom will never end.

How can this be? asked Mary Mary for she was not yet married to Joseph the angel answered the Holy Spirit will come upon you and

you will be with child the child will be the son of God for nothing is

impossible with God."

And Mary said,

I am the Lord's servant.

May it be to me as you have said.

Then the angel left her.

This was a special moment for Mary.

Out of all the young women God had chosen her to be the mother

of Jesus. Mary would be a part of God's plan to send his son into the world to save us

from sin. As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, may we say like Mary, I am the Lord's
