Welcome to Day one of the Happy Advent series that we are starting. This little mini pod that we want to do today was just talking about how the fundamental work little day ready, making all of the little jobs you do, all of the decorating and the spiffing it all up and all of that,

how it really is fundamentally hospitality, but that it is also just first being hospitable to the people you actually have in your own home.

Not hospitable maybe to Instagram, not hospitable to the one thing you're going to do with your book group at your house.

But hospitable in a daily way to...

And it's a great time to, I think of it as hospitality which puts it in perspective

It's easy to think about it as one big giant list of to do's and jobs and things to stress out about and panic about but think

about it as hospitality and and we know what our demeanor should be

scripturally speaking is be hospitable without grumbling.

You know, like make it, be actually joyful,

and don't just have joy be the little thing

that it says on the sign in your living room. But how. just have that

that just have that be actually true as you as you really lay yourself down

and do all this work and put in all this effort and some of it won't be noticed and some of it won't be appreciated and yep and one thing that I think is a real like I love I love design I love decorating I love this is a subject that I enjoy a lot of things about it but one of the real temptations to any woman who is that way who likes likes things like that, is that you can start to want to

curate your Christmas look more than backing up.

And when you're curating it just I hope you all have had this experience

if you're trying to do that often what you're removing from the scene is the other people

you know the thing that makes everyone feel like they're messing it up is the people that are

actually around you.

And so you don't fall into this trap of trying to curate the holiday in a way

that's only theoretically for the people who are there but it's actually unkind to everyone

and makes it not joyful. So you know you
