Summary

In response to requests for more advanced podcasts, this week I have an interview with Tom Brown, a master at technical trout fishing, long-time fishing manager in our Roanoke retail store, and now a member of our Outfitter Team (the great people who answer your technical fly fishing questions via phone, e-mail, or chat). Also in the fly box we cover whether a 3-weight is OK for an all-around Rocky Mountain rod, whether the absence of small fish in a pool indicates a big trout nearby, treble hooks for tube flies, switch rods from SUPs, the best sinking line for streams, terrestrials early in the season, and a bunch of other interesting questions.

1:16.0	He's got actually three questions. Matthew's going out west to travel to Yosemite,
1:22.2	Crater Lake, and Yellowstone.
1:24.0	So he has a goal of catching at least one Yellowstone cutthroat trout.
1:28.0	But I'm sure you'll catch a lot more.
1:32.0	So here are Matthew's three questions.
1:34.0	Is there anything to worry about bringing gear from out east, for example, invasive species
1:38.0	and should I prep my gear in any special way to be the most environmentally sound.
1:43.0	Matthew, the standard procedure is the best you can do, which is clean, inspect, and dry.
1:53.0	Clean your waiting boots and your waiters probably.
1:56.0	In hot water, a little soap if you want, don't use any chemical formulas.
