I would have these experiences where I would sit down to work, and instead of thinking, how can I make this drawing look the best possible way, or how can I write it the way I want it to write?

I would be thinking about, you know, what's the comics journal going to say about this?

Or the people who write me letters, what are their criticisms going to be?

And all these kinds of thoughts that were just driving me crazy.
