It's just a 20th century idea, you know. But she sort of expanded all of that for me. She was somehow simple and ornate at the same time. I mean, she actually said something like that about herself. She said that she was, she said, I'm plain and sophisticated at the same time. And I thought that was a really interesting way to think of not only about being a poet, but being a person, you know.
