in hobby, and in life. A thing called life. My guest today is Adrian Grenier. Yes, you know

Adrian as the star of the long-running HBO series called Entourage. They also had a feature film.

I think they did like 12 seasons with him as Vinnie

Vincent Chase, the star of the series. He's been in so many other movies with Devere Woj Prada,

but he's also also got a long history as an entrepreneur with a lifelong goal, a habit, of going through all kinds of different gatekeepers that have stood between

him and his goals. There's all kinds of themes in this talk today that are core to me, like the

critical importance of building community, of peers that will motivate you, of giving back

culturally, financially, with time and investment and also mentorship how

mentorship can be a really critical catalyst for progress and of course he is a lifelong

learner so many of these disciplines he's been formally trained for but all of the like how to get

all that stuff done he has just figured it out through self-education, through learning

from others, and just putting himself in a learning environment. In this episode, we dig into why

he's a passionate learner, despite having dropped out of college. I think that explains so many

of us in culture today. And I think the future is much less about college.

And Adrian and I talk a little bit about that.

We also talk about his history, not only in front of the camera, but behind it as a documentary filmmaker.

I don't know if you saw the film Teenage Papparazzo, an amazing study, a film that Adrian made about one of the youngest paparazzo

paparazzi in L.A. who was tracking Adrian, and he just tapped into this kid's story,

an amazing thing, how he got the call for entourage while he was trying to sneak into Cuba

to make another documentary. We go pretty deep on him as a creative filmmaker in his own right.

And also how creativity plays a vital role in driving social change. And to that end, we bring in a secret guest about two-thirds of the way through the show.
