Summary

What might God do if you made the commitment to pray every day for a specific country? What doors might He open? Two decades ago Peter Smith and his wife were challenged to adopt a country and specifically pray every day for God’s Spirit to move in that country. The country God led them to was the Islamic Republic of Iran. Listen to hear how Peter and his wife began to pray, how God opened the door for him to visit Iran, and how his family has reached out to Persian people living in the United States. In the 20 years since Peter and his family began to pray, God has opened amazing doors for them to impact Iranian people for Christ. As you listen this week, you’ll be challenged to make the same decision Peter and his family made all those years ago: to adopt a country and specifically pray every day for the people in that country. 0:08.0	Like maybe you wouldn't know what to pray about?
0:12.0	Peter Smith realized that he could pray for people in other
0:14.8	countries by addressing the same concerns that filled his own heart when he
0:19.9	prayed for himself and his family. People in Iran, when they get up in the morning,
0:25.7	they have aches and pains.
0:27.7	They have children who are going to school.
0:30.2	They have a job.
0:31.0	In fact, many of them have three jobs because of the economy.
0:34.0	And so they're stressed out and they're looking for ways to get ahead.
0:40.0	And so why not begin to pray that somehow they will have that encounter with God that leads them to him?
0:50.0	Jesus never promised his followers an easy path.
0:53.4	In fact, he told his disciples that the world would hate them.
0:56.9	He sent them out as sheep among wolves.
0:59.7	Jesus's words came true in the life of the Apostles,
1:02.8	and they're still coming true today in the lives of his followers around the world.
