are so thankful for you moms. Now, as we get into our study today, why don't you guys turn to 1 John Chapter 3? We're going to be in 1st John chapter 3, and I'm going to be a little bold in saying that I'm assuming that some of you that are here today are here because it's Mother's Day. That maybe you want to get your mom off your back, and so you said, whatever you want, I'll do it.

Just tell me, do you want me to mow the lawn?

No.

Do you want me to wash your car?

No.

Will you come to church with me?

And that's when you found out you were in deeper than you had hoped.

And so you're here.

And so today what I'm going to do is I'm going to teach to those of you who are already children of God. We just sing that song about being a child of God. And it's a beautiful song. I don't know if they knew the topic of the message, but God did. And so I'm going to talk about being a child of God today. But I also hope that some of you as you sit here and you hear of the benefits of being

a child of God, that you would also be won over with a holy jealousy, that there would be a

recognition that just something's missing in your life and you would find that it's a personal

and living relationship with the living God. And so today, I hope to win you over to a life lived for God because of the love

of God. You guys all know what it's like to talk to a salesman, right? He gives you all these benefits

that if you just buy my product, your life will be better. It will be extended by many years.

In fact, your finances will get better. Your health will be better. Everything will be

better. And you're like, all right. What do I have to do? And so today, I don't want to be too much of a salesman, but I am going to share with you where we're headed. Because today we're going to talk about being adopted by God. If you're taking notes, you can write down the title of the message, being adopted by God.
