What happens over these final five games is actually important, even though the Jets are out of the

playoff race. There are some players who, if they step up, could change the Jets' offseason

strategy for how they build this offense around whoever plays quarterback in 2026. We'll talk

about how the running back position could change if a sidekick for Bce Hall steps up. We'll talk about how

Joe Titman could create a very interesting decision for the Jets about how they build their

offensive line, but we'll begin by talking about the wide receiver position. And if you're a Jets fan,

you had to be encouraged by the performance of Adonai Mitchell Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Mitchell had eight catches for 102 yards and a big touchdown in the second half that sparked

the Jets offense, which had really struggled in the first half.

This time of a year when the Jets are out of the playoff race, and unfortunately, every year

the Jets are out of the playoff race this time of the season, there is a debate.

Is it better for the Jets to lose games and improve the draft position? Or is it better for the Jets to win games and try and build

a culture, try and stack victories, try and build momentum going into the offseason? But I think no

matter where you stand on that debate, you want the young players to step up.

You want guys who are developing to show signs that things are moving forward.

And this was a big step forward for Adonai Mitchell.
