Hi, this is Susan Simpson with Undisclosed Podcast. We are here for day four of Anand's PCR hearing.

0:09.0

It's Monday, a little before court starts, and we will be resuming with the cross-examination of Chad Fitzgerald, the state cell phone expert.

0:18.0

There is a lot more to come, I suspect. Full disclosure,

0:23.3

it has been a very long weekend. I made it here. I was not sure I'd be here on Friday. I am here. I am

0:30.9

running on next-to-no-sleep from a long weekend of mostly stuff not related to this case. But

0:36.4

for those of you who keep wishing

0:38.9

that I would talk slower, you will probably get your wish today. I'm really curious to see what

0:45.6

this cross is going to be like today. It's going to be interesting to see what the state comes back

0:50.8

with because they'll come back to something. But I know Justin's been working

0:54.4

really hard to learn the self-in evidence and he knows its significance and he knows what it can

0:59.4

and cannot show. And I think a lot more of that will come out today in court. It is the lunch break

1:07.2

on day four of the PCR hearing. We just finished up the testimony from Agent Fitzgerald,

1:11.6

and we've resumed the cross-examination of Dave Irwin, who was the defense expert. So we're now back

1:16.4

to the defense case. And I guess today so far, if two words can sum it up, it is bench conference.

1:22.3

There's been a lot of bench conferencing, which means everyone's in the front of the room. Everyone means the attorneys are all in the front of the room, talking to the judge. They put the white

1:29.5

noise machine on, so we can't hear what they're talking about usually. They were kind of yelling

1:33.3

of it today. So you'd hear like, expert and saw and the document. So there were probably

1:39.1

about four or five bench conferences and all, maybe more, and probably half the time that I was actually not witnesses testifying. It was us listening to the white noise machine. So Fitzgerald was amazing

1:48.6

on Cross, well, amazing for the defense, I guess, because he said a lot of really great things,

1:54.3

common sense, truthful things that I don't think he realized what he was acknowledging in the context

1:58.9

of this case. For instance, to start off with, we come back

2:03.9

and we get into that whole issue with the documents from last time. So we ended court on Friday.
