And like most pre-season, there has to be a little bit of controversy with Notre Dame football.

And this one, I mean, I think for us generally kind of came out of the blue.

I think when you look back at Alisei Jones's tweets, maybe over the summer,

there might have been a little bit of a foreshadowing.

But L.A. Jones is academically ineligible for the

2016 season. He will remain in school. He seems very positive about returning to Notre Dame,

but Nordame is down a man at the receiver positions. Yeah, it's a big one, literally, because

they don't have another 6'5, 244-pound athlete who can run like a wide receiver, but looks like a tight end.

Very few teams have one to begin with.

Notre Dame was fortunate enough to be one of those teams.

So it's like whether Notre Dame is losing a tight end or whether Notre Dame is losing a wide receiver, however you want to frame it.

I think what they're losing is, oh, crap, it's third and eight, nobody's open, who we're going to throw the ball to.

Oh, just check it to Ali Zay Jones.

He'll make a play.
