At the eastern end of the sunset strip is a hotel they call Chateau Marmont and boy has it's seen some times.

She also had a private entrance and she was entertaining male companions during her quote-unquote honeymoon.

That really set the tenor for the place.

But this week the Shateau's owner announced that the Hotel to the Stars for nearly a century

was about to become a private members club.

Not that it was ever easy to get into. It used to be that if you met someone charming

on Sunset Boulevard and you were both fancy free, you could find a room at Chateau Marmont. And now it's impossible to imagine anyone staying there long term.

It literally would be cheaper to buy a $10 million house.

So what stories could the old place tell us if it could speak.

And what does the future hold for it?
