I'm Chris Smith and today we're going to take a closer look at attention deficit

hyperactivity disorder which is usually referred to by the acronym ADHD.

We'll hear from two women who've recently been diagnosed with the condition

and will also be examining some possible new treatments.

From Cambridge University's Institute of Continuing Education, this is the Naked Scientists. Globally it's estimated around 5% of children and adolescents as well as adults

in fact are affected by ADHD but those numbers do vary from country to country and as we'll

find out a bit later on diagnoses appear to be on the rise.

So what's it like to live with ADHD? Well Nicola Jane Little is a social entrepreneur who set up the ADHD

support group Celebrate Difference and Tanya Martin works with organizations around neuroinclusion.

They've both recently been diagnosed with the condition.
