Summary

Michael Cragg returns to Pop Pantheon for the second installment in our two-part series on the grande dame of contemporary pop, Adele. Michael and Louie discuss Adele’s sabbatical following her breakout blockbuster success with 21, during which she crafted her comeback album, 2015’s 25. They dissect the album, from the booming piano ballad “Hello” to Adele’s collaboration with big pop producers like Max Martin, and her continued mega success. Finally, they tackle her most recent album, 30, her most experimental yet, and her forthcoming hiatus before ranking Adele in the Official Pop Pantheon.

This is your host, DJ Louis, the 14th, reminding you that we have a live show coming up

0:21.8

on December 2nd at Parkside Lounge in the East Village that still has tickets available. I wanted to

0:27.5

tell you a little bit more about this show. So in each show, we're going to be counting down

0:32.6

the best albums and songs of the year and then deciding on a definitive list. So on the second, we're going to be talking about the best songs of the year. And me, Jason Frank, Jason Lipschitz, and Julianne Escapado Shepard are all going to be counting down our personal favorite songs of the year and then deciding on our definitive list of our favorite songs of the year. So you won't want to miss that. Tickets are still available for the show on December 2nd. We will be doing albums the next night on December 3rd

0:58.3

with Larisha Paul, Nora Pinciotti, and Sam Murphy. But tickets for that are sold out. So grab

1:03.0

Also, Russ and I are getting ready to do our

1:12.2

what Pantheon rankings did we get wrong episode for this year's Pop Pantheon rankings. So if you have

1:18.4

an episode of this show from this year, I don't want to hear anything about things from before this

1:23.0

year. Don't want to hear about Kylie Minogue. Don't want to hear about Gwen Stefani. I want to hear

1:26.7

about episodes from this year. If you have a good argument for why we got a Pop Pantheon

1:31.9

ranking wrong, please send us a voice note or an email to Poppantheon pod at gmail.com, and we will

1:38.5

perhaps take that into consideration for our What Pantheon Rankings Did We Get Wrong episode, where

1:43.4

we may re-adjudicate a couple of things from this year.

1:46.5

I actually have a couple things in mind myself.

1:48.6

It's an important episode of Pop Pantheon every year.

1:50.7

So send your disputes to Poppantheon pod at gmail.com.

1:54.9

I also just wanted to throw out there that if you have a holiday party coming up, if you have any sort of personal event, wedding, whatever, I'm

2:01.4

available to DJ stuff. So reach out to me at info at L-O-U-I-E-X-I-V.com and let's talk about your

2:08.7

parties. I'd love to be there to DJ that stuff. Also, gorgeous, gorgeous L.A. is happening
