0:41.0 | When we ask ourselves this question, we're asking the part of ourselves that gets overridden by the busyness of our lives. |
0:49.0 | And there's often a deep sense of relief, just from being asked. |
0:55.0 | When I ask myself this question, sometimes there's an answer about an immediate need, like sleep or rest. |
1:02.0 | And at other times, the answer is broader and harder to address, like the need for reassurance. |
1:08.0 | Sometimes there's no answer, but there's still a sense of relief knowing that I'm giving my mind space to explore the question without any demands for an answer. |

1:57.0 | Self-inquiry practices involve grounding ourselves in the present moment, and then asking ourselves a question, |
2:04.0 | with openness, curiosity, and acceptance of whatever emerges. |
2:10.0 | First, you'll want to find a space where you know you'll be uninterrupted, and I also recommend setting a timer for the meditation practice. |
2:18.0 | And the amount of time can be up to you, whether it's five minutes or twenty minutes. |
2:22.0 | Having a set amount of time provides psychological safety, knowing that the process won't drag on and interfere with other tasks of your day. |
