late by the Larry David Standards to wish everybody a happy new year, but we're going to violate

that rule because this is the very first podcast

of the year. And with this being the first podcast of 2024, we are going to have a special guest

Dean Blandino, the NFL's former vice president of officiating the current rules analyst for Fox and with officiating

being a significant topic of discussion during the regular season.

And we assume, but hope not, that it will be for the postseason as well.

We figured we were bringing Dean Blandino to give us a little bit of the lay of the land

of the state of officiating and hint, it's not great right now. But before we get to Dean

Blandino, my former colleague at the NFL, we will go first to the co-host of the fantasy

fast. If I remember correctly, when we left off this podcast over the holiday, you told me that

you and your daughter were off to go do something very special. That was that both of you were

going to be working on Christmas Day. I just wanted to ask you, what was the Schaefter's holiday

like knowing that you and Dylan both got to do something very fun over the Christmas holidays like you talked to us about before we went

onto a break? Daniel, thank you for remembering that. It was awesome. Being on the field at Arrowhead

Stadium with her, her being the sideline reporter for Nickelodeon. And again, she's going to be
