Summary

Can the old-school keep the new school in check!?

Welcome back to Crying in my Car, a podcast for teachers. Take a seat with our hosts, Devin Siebold and James Yon as they dissect the growing taboo of politics in the classroom.

You don’t want to miss this drama: from a brewing legal battle over teachers’ freedom of speech to the tea breaking up student clubs from within. Are teachers inching closer and closer to becoming the nation’s social pariahs? You will never see the punchline of the joke coming.

Devin challenges the shutting down of the opinion of others in the classroom. Is this hindering students' critical thinking skills and limiting their exposure to different perspectives?

Would banning cell phones fix the school system? James shares how different his school was without a cellphone in his hand 24/7. Devin hilariously suggests - or invents? - “education mode” for all phones: “and it only goes to journalistic, documented websites."
