Summary

I’ve built a billion dollar company and for as much success as I’ve seen in my life, I’ve seen triple the amount of failures. When it comes to doing hard things, getting absolutely and totally obsessed with what I am after and doing so with unrelenting focus day after day, I can outlast and outperform anyone. You’re not going to achieve this level of success being weak and not absolutely sure about what you want to accomplish. Because I’ve been to the other side of the rainbow, I can tell you the pot of gold you’re after isn’t worth anything if you don’t prioritize chasing fulfillment first. QUOTES: “Go at it like a freak of nature.” “You are average, but you can get better. Go f*cking learn.” “When you go that hard everything will relent to your superior will.” “The most terrifying thing about excuses it that they are valid.” “I’m not smarter than the average person, but man, I am way harder to break.” “It’s right when it moves you towards your goals and it’s wrong when it moves you away.” “You need a maniacal focus, you need to be lasered in on one thing and you do it to the abstraction of everything else and you do it obsessively to the point where everything else in your life ideally is falling apart…” Follow Tom Bilyeu: Website: https://impacttheory.com/  Twitter: https://twitter.com/TomBilyeu  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tombilyeu  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tombilyeu/  SPONSORS: elizabeth@advertisepurple.com Are You Ready for EXTRA Impact? Welcome to Impact Theory. Hey, f*** head. You are average. Yes, stop being

0:25.7

afraid of that. You're average, but you can get better. Go, f***ing learn. But you have to be a demon.

0:31.4

You have to give your brain and body the impulse, adapt or die. I will break you in half before I give up. Once I realized that like,

0:40.5

oh, I could just get better at sitting in this emotion. I don't have to run from this emotion.

0:47.0

Then you begin to get stronger. You become more capable of facing things. Then if you have a

0:51.7

value system that says, hey, Tom, don't be weak.

0:58.0

You're that feeling of like you want to run and hide, stop, man up, face it, sit in it,

1:05.6

do not allow yourself. And then when I do it, I'm like, bro, this is why you are you. This is why you've accomplished

1:11.7

what you've accomplished. Because in this moment, everybody else runs. In this moment,

1:16.4

everybody else breaks. In this moment, everybody else becomes so insecure that they go chase

1:20.8

distraction, but you don't. You sit here. Like even when I go to the dentist and it hurts,

1:27.1

I open my mouth wider. And I'm like, get in there. I don't

1:31.0

flinch. I don't try to pull back. I'm like, yeah, baby. Like get that drill in there. Like, go on,

1:36.6

scrape it, get down to the bone, even though it hurts and my every impulse is to pull away.

1:41.7

If I'm dealing with something and it makes me anxious, I won't blade. Blading is where you turn sideways to something. When somebody does that to you, they're either intimidated by you, they're stressed, whatever. I will face that thing head on literally and figuratively. If something is terrifying me, I'm like, I'm in this. I'm not running from this. I'm dealing with this. When I've got a hard thing that I don't want to do, which is almost always contracts, I'm like, here we go, we're going to do these contracts. I'm going to do this contract at three in the morning when everybody else, they wake up, actually they're sleeping. Who are we kidding? They're still asleep. I'm up. I'm looking at a contract and I am emotionally rewarding myself to the ends of the earth for doing that.

2:20.2

That's so cool. It's so fascinating. Because the ironic thing is I'm only distracted when I'm trying to

2:26.4

accomplish something meaningful and hard, but it's like challenging. I'm never distracted when I'm

2:32.0

doing something easy and fun. That's why I think I'm right about the, what distraction really is.
