Hello, my friends, and happy Sunday afternoon. Like many of you, I am watching the snow come down in the many inches, and it's lovely here on a Sunday. But like many of you, I'm also watching the news and connected to my friends in Minneapolis and what I'm hearing coming out

of that city and the tragedy of the shooting and killing of Alex Freddie, who was an ICU nurse,

and he worked at the VA. So he saved veterans' lives, literally. That's what he did for a living.

And now he was, he's dead because he was shot 10 times

by a federal agent, a goon, a member of the Maga Gestapo, whatever you want to call it. And I thought,

well, I want to do something. We all want to do something. So I reached out to some of my friends

in Minneapolis and hoped to be talking to them all week.

If you're a listener that lives out there or any other city affected by this invasion of ice,

I want to hear from you.

But I was really happy that I got to catch up with Adam on Sunday.

I'm not going to give you his last name.

He's pretty activated and organized with a bunch of his friends and neighbors in Minneapolis to protect vulnerable people and vulnerable communities. He's doing the work. And he emailed me back and said he would talk to me and I have a great conversation with Adam for you coming up right now. But first I want to read his email that he sent me because I simply asked him

how it's going, checking up on you is what I said and wanted to get his take on things. Adam and I

have known each other a little bit for a long time. He's a long time listener of the show. So many

amazing people that listen to the show that you don't know that you might have never heard from,

but I've heard from them. And I try to remember folks and where they live and how they're affected and always want to open up and reach out and talk to them and platform their voices and the actions that they're doing exactly what I wanted to do with Adam. So he emailed me back and I want to read that and we'll jump into my conversation with him. He said, shit's fucked up, Pete. People are

fucking angry, trying to rally my crew of longtime friends not to succumb to nihilism. I've done

the constitutional observer training and I'm part of the response team for my city of Maple Grove.

Moved to the suburbs a few years ago and we started having kids. They seem to be aiming most of

their terrorism campaign at the city of Minneapolis.

I don't see much action here, but it's fucking scary as fuck to get the call.

My son goes to Spanish immersion preschool.
