Hey, this is the moment. I'm Brian Coppelman.

My guess today is Adam Durritt's of County Crows.

I will never forget where I was and what it felt like the first time I heard round here.

It was the demo of the song. I was still working in the music business then.

And by the time the second verse of the song kicked in I knew I was listening to the kind of

thing that only happens a few times during the course of your life as a music fan.

I knew I was hearing something that was so real and powerful

and executed on such a high level

that I was going to be a fan forever but I also had much darker

reaction to it because of where I was at that time in my life and in a lot of ways it was one of the things the moment of hearing

that song then was the beginning of a series of events that led me to leave the music business and finally take the chance that I could become a filmmaker.

And then, you know, Adam and Counting Crows

ended up doing the end credit song to the first movie

that my partner and I wrote, Rounders, and the whole thing came full circle.

He and I don't know each other, we've met a couple of times, but he is one of my favorite

figures in rock and roll and one of the great songwriters. I think of our time and I'm really eager to talk to him about how he does what he does and why and and if he's still as lonely as the lyrics make it seem.
