Hello and welcome to Under the Skin with me Russell Brand from Luminary. This is a very special

week because for the next two episodes I'll be talking to Adam Curtis. Adam Curtis is a documentary

filmmaker. He's been on Under the Skin before. I think he was one of the first guests, maybe the first.

What's he? Oh, he might be. The very first. Yeah, I think so. In his films he explores areas of

sociology, psychology. I said we have a big argument about that. Philosophy in political history.

His latest documentary can't get you out of my head in emotional history with the modern world.

There's a six-part series that you can watch on the BBC. I play her, right? Is it on the

TV as well? This is part one of our conversation. Part two will be next week and I'll be looking forward

to hearing your comments and thoughts. Adam has been a big, he's an important person in my life.

Adam Curtis, he's been affecting my perspectives for a long while from when I first saw

Century of the Self, Howard Nightmares, I loved all of these films and I've become friends with him

and he's a curious and brilliant man. What are you thinking, Jen? It's just funny conversation.

What? That's funny conversation? Why? I just like that he is dismissive. He liked that to you.

You like how he's dismissive. Like you try and do something and then you just move on.

Or do you kind of mean like the HR department? That's what you like. I think it's an interesting

dream. Do you like these horrible to me? That's what you like. That's horrible to you.

Just it's an interesting dynamic. Personally. Jen, I'm going to have a real eye on you over the coming

weeks after a remark like that. That sadism, what you've just expressed there. Psychological

sadism. Do you like that? Sean Freud. I'm not necessarily

different. You're just sort of a headlapist, not a peel. But if something really on you,
