Welcome to the One Life One Chance podcast. I'm your host Toby with the Horse Horse. I just got back from Tor a few days ago and I wanted to emergency podcast because as people know Adam Blake has not been with us on the Persistence tour and as people know I made this t-shirt and we put

So I want to take, I know you have P&H but before we get to that I want to take

you back to getting diagnosed that one show you couldn't play with us stuff that

people didn't know about before the internet. All right so we're going back to like early 2000s yeah I was on tour in Europe and I peed blood and at the

time I was like drinking a lot and partying so I just kind of chalked it up to that.

Yeah. But it just kept happening. So when we got back to United States I went and saw a doctor.

The doctor didn't know what the hell was going on so he he sent me to see another doctor, and finally they sent me to see a specialist, a hematologist. And the hematologist did a bunch of tests and comb back and told me that I had a condition called

paroxysol nocturnal hemoglobinaria or P&H for sure. And I had no idea what this was.

And at the time, you know, like a lot of musicians musicians I didn't have medical insurance yeah and you know I'm

kind of living that like you know fancy free partying lifestyle so I was like you know

whatever happens happens right yeah and I didn't really take it seriously.

They told me that my blood would occasionally

basically break down and I would pee it out

and I would get fatigued.
