because it really struck me this morning as I was emptying the dishwasher and

listening to a podcast through my airpods. I was listening to the argument a

podcast of the New York Times opinion section with our friend Ross Douthet and

Michelle Goldberg being right and left and the podcast began with Ross saying,

well here we are our our long national nightmare is over right Michelle we've

had the inauguration and everything is everything is different now and I want

to read I sat down to transcribe this because it was so startling to me I want to

read what Michelle Goldberg said in response quote,

I've been in an acute state of psychological crisis since the election of 2016.

I just remember getting to the end of it I had a toddler and a baby and getting

to the end of it and feeling like finally I've reached the end of the marathon

and now I can relax and just along with the sense of impending horror for the

entire country and the entire world I remember feeling like I was walking

into a personal prison that I was not going to really be fully alive again

until this time ended and unfortunately nobody gets to be fully alive again

because we are left living in the wreckage that Trump has bequeathed us right?

It's not as it gets to be a big cathartic situation
