The whole world is Israel now, and if these people are joining that family and eating the Passover

meal fulfilled in Jesus at the table with us, they need to be circumcised.

I mean, it's a good argument.

It is.

If this was a theology debate, I'd be like, that's a good point.

This is our last planned episode on the book of Acts.

And it's been such a fun journey so far, and hopefully we won't ruin it today.

Hopefully not. I don't think we will. We're going to look at the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15.

A really big moment in the church in Jerusalem as Jews figure out what it meant that the Gentile world was

being incorporated into the people of Israel Israel and what it meant that they now

cohabitated the new Israel, the world with them and alongside them.

Peters had some big cataclysmic changes with understanding that God has cleaned the unclean,

and he shouldn't call them unclean or profane anymore.

The Holy Spirit has fallen on Gentile of Gentile places.

And so now as those groups of people are coming together, which is the story of Acts.

Yeah.

And Paul and Barnabas have just finished their first big journey commissioned by the Spirit to travel to

different parts of the Roman world to proclaim the gospel. And so that was a spirit commission

thing. And we come to the Council of Jerusalem chapter right after that. Yeah, because they're in Antioch.
