Father Stephen is a former Protestant pastor and Bible teacher in the Reformed Church,

but now an Orthodox priest serving at Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church in Lafayette, Louisiana.

When Paul took the man, and the next day, having been purified with them, entered the

temple to announce the expiration of the days of purification, at which time an offering should

be made for each one of them. So there was a period of time leading up to taking the vow called the days of

purification when they would fast, when they would pray. It's talking about him being purified with

him. That means the ritual washings before you went into the temple so that you were clean. Notice,

St. Paul still does them. Right? He doesn't say, oh, this stuff's all old hat.

Right?

I've been baptized, so I never need to, you know, do ritual.

He doesn't say any of that, right?

And he doesn't, he never says, well, I guess I'll go along with this, you know, to try to get back on the good side of the Jewish people.

He's fully committed to, hey, if they kill me, okay, you know, to try to get back on the good side of the Jewish people. He's fully committed to, hey, if they kill me, okay.

You know, he's doing this because he believes this is still a valid and important thing.

Now, when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews from Asia,

remember these are the ones who are following him around, they are causing trouble.

Seeing him in the temple stirred up the whole crowd and laid hands on him, crying out,

Men of Israel help. This is the man who teaches all men everywhere against the people, the law, and this place.

And furthermore, he also brought Greeks into the temple that has defiled this holy place.

So, again, this stuff isn't true.
