Today on Search Flight, we are continuing our verse-by-verse study through the Book of Acts. If you have been with us, you know that this is an exciting book that gives us a picture and pattern for the church and for our lives individually.

As we begin chapter 8, we are introduced to a character that will become very important in the early church, but he is not quite following the Lord yet.

Acts chapter 8, we left off seeing the stoning of Stephen.

That powerful polemicist, a very fine debater, a very persuasive arguer,

he stood up for the gospel preaching Jesus Christ and portraying the fact that the father is always

doing something new, something wonderful, something special.

So don't lock in to your religious traditions.

Consider Abraham and Joseph and Moses, and he gave a reiteration of Israel's history,

showing that you couldn't box the Lord in to a certain place or a set of procedures,

you see. Religious people don't like that. They want to keep things all boxed up,

nicely packaged.
