Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

Here on Searchlight, we are in the midst of a verse-by by verse study in Acts chapter 20. In this story,

the Apostle Paul is making his way toward Jerusalem in his third missionary journey. And as Paul

journeys, there is much that we can learn from him. Let's now join Pastor John for our study

and hear what the Lord wants to speak to us today. So verse 13, we went

before to the ship and we set sail unto Asos their intending to take in Paul. Luke

talking here saying now, we went to pick up Paul and have him join us, for he had appointed minding himself

to go afoot. Verse 13 is one that I find also to be interesting. Paul decided to let the

entourage, the team, sail. He was going to make the journey by foot about 25 miles

approximately Paul had things to think through to sort out to pray about he knew

that his life was being threatened by certain Jews who wanted to and planned on throwing him overboard.

He knew that he was headed towards Jerusalem where he would be encountering great difficulty.

So what did Paul do?

He said, boys, you sail. I'm walking.
