Welcome to our new project, the Daily Bible Devotional. The goal is to help you understand and apply

scripture as you go through a New Testament Bible read five days a week, Monday through Friday,

as we move from Matthew straight through to Revelation. In under four minutes each morning, we will recap the chapter,

make some application, present thought questions for the day, and offer a prayer together.

I'm excited about exploring God's Word with you, so let's get started.

Welcome back to our daily Bible devotional study. Today we are in Acts chapter 2.

and today this is it. This is the central chapter of scripture related to Jesus and the church,

and it's my pleasure to discuss it with you. Here's a recap of Acts chapter 2. On the day of Pentecost,

tongues like fire descended upon the apostles in Jerusalem.

A crowd gathers, and these anointed men from Galilee begin speaking in various languages.

The people are amazed. The apostles then stand and address the Jewish audience.

They explain that these miracles were prophesied hundreds of years earlier in the book of Joel.

Then they begin preaching Jesus. They tell of his miracles, his death and resurrection,

and how this is God's plan and prophesied by David a thousand years before. The people are

pierced to the heart and ask what to do. They are told to repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of their sins.

3,000 people are baptized and commit to learning, worship, and fellowship together.

The age of Christ Church begins.

We want to be welcomed by God into that fold, so let's look at some application
