Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

Here on Searchlight, we are getting a picture of what the church should look like.

Our model is the early church that is described in the book of Acts. We are currently in Acts chapter 2, where we see the

key to the church being effective in ministry. They were empowered by the Holy Spirit. And as they were

empowered by the Holy Spirit, it raised some interesting questions

from non-believers. Let's now join Pastor John with our teaching and see how Peter handles these

questions. There's always two reactions when the Spirit begins to move. There are those that say,

what meaneth this, verse 12? And there are those that say, what meaneth this? Verse 12,

and there are those that say, ah, these guys are full of new wine. Drunk. Well, Peter, verse 14,

standing up with the 11, lifted up his voice. And he spoke to them.

Ye men of Judea and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem,

be this known unto you, harken to my words.

For these are not drunken, as you suppose,

seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
