Guys, we are in Acts Chapter 16.

Last episode, we got to talk about the sort of unfortunate breakup of Paul and Barnabas, but Paul has picked up a couple of other people.

He's got Silas picking up Timothy and the very end of our time together last time, we find that Luke has joined up because the language of the text goes

from they to we, and where are we going? Well, you got to go to Macedonia because they conclude when Paul gets a vision,

that says go to Macedonia, but that's where they should go. And so they are off to Macedonia,

and that's where we pick it up. That's it. So we pick it up in verse 11, chapter 16. It says,

so setting sail from Troas, we made a direct voyage to, and I never know exactly how to pronounce this city. Samothrachi. Would that be correct? Samothrace. Samothrace. Sure. Whatever it is you say with confidence.

That's right. That's right. And the following days to Neopolis, that's easier. And from there to Philippi, which is a leading city of the district of Macedonia and a Roman colony and also a recipient of one of Paul's best letters in the New Testament. We remain in this city some days. And on the Sabbath day, we went outside the gate to the riverside where we supposed there was a place of

prayer and we sat down and spoke to the women who had come together. One who heard us was a woman

named Lydia from the city of Thiatira, a seller of purple goods, who was a worshipper of God. The Lord
