Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

Sometimes when we share the gospel with people, we feel like we are not connecting.

People may seem uninterested or act like they don't understand or even react with hostility. But on our last

searchlight program, we were reminded that the Word of God does not return void. And we are seeing

this truth in action in our study in Acts Chapter 13. Paul the Apostle is preaching

a sermon to some Jews in Antioch that sounds remarkably familiar. That is because it is very similar

to the sermon Stephen preached about 14 years earlier. That was the sermon that Stephen preached

just before he was stoned, and Paul was one of

the men consenting to his stoning. At the time, it seemed like the Word of God had no effect on Paul,

but in due time we see that it changed Paul's life, and now he is preaching the same thing.

Let's now join Pastor John as we continue in this

sermon of Paul. And the judges were there for 450 years, and then comes Samuel. Now, Paul here

points this out, that Samuel comes in the scene, because Samuel is the preparer of the way for David.
